President Trump Signs National Purple Heart Day Proclamation

Leadership for the National Purple Heart Honor Mission and past Purple Heart Patriot Project honorees attended the historic signing of a National Purple Heart Day proclamation by President Donald J. Trump at The White House.

Among the distinguished guests in attendance were four-time Purple Heart recipient George Stavropoulos, three-time Purple Heart recipient Carlton Cannon, two-time Purple Heart recipient and Honor Mission Board member Dan Clarino, two-time Purple Heart recipient Vanessa Schiber (PHPP, 2023), Ph.D., and Purple Heart recipients Richie Lay (Past Chairman, National Purple Heart Honor Mission), Josephine Keller (PHPP, 2023), Thomas “TC” Smith (PHPP, 2021), Ed O’Neal (PHPP, 2023), Ed Gerasimowicz (PHPP, 2021).

Korean War Purple Heart recipient Randy Jurgensen, also a guest of the Honor Mission, receive one of the pens used President Trump to sign the Proclamation.

The National Purple Heart Honor Mission was also represented by Board Chairman Jeremy McVey, Executive Director Col. Russ Vernon, and board member Hugh Robinson. It was a thrill to have so many of our nation's heroes together and honored by the Commander-in-Chief.
