Fox 8: Purple Heart returned to Chippewa Lake family of Vietnam War veteran — 58 years after his death
In February 1968, the war in Vietnam was raging. U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Curtis Patton was serving with the 1st Cavalry Division, 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, B Company.
The battalion was sent to help U.S. Marines who were engaged in a battle for Hue City, one of the longest urban conflicts of the war.
