WCHS ABC 8 / FOX11: W.Va. veteran, three-time Purple Heart recipient to be recognized at national tribute

An veteran from Putnam County will be honored at a national tribute event this spring, organizers announced.

U.S. Army Capt. James McCormick, of Scott Depot has been selected as one of America’s 2026 Purple Heart Patriot Project honorees during a mission scheduled from April 27 to May 1, according to a news release from the organization.
