Charleston Gazette-Mail: 3 Time Purple Heart Recipient from Mason County to Represent WV

Three-time Purple Heart recipient James McCormick will represent West Virginia at the 2026 Purple Heart Patriot Project April 27-May 1 in New York.

McCormick, 58, of New Haven, Mason County, will join representatives from each state, including men and women from all branches of military service, in an all expenses paid trip that includes special tributes, ceremonies and visits to historic sites in New York including the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and other historic sites.
