This holiday season will mark the last time Americans will be able to purchase the nation’s first and only official commemorative coins honoring our Purple Heart recipients. The coins, minted only in 2022 have proven to be incredibly popular with Purple Heart recipients, coin collectors, veterans and the general public.

Sales from the U.S. Mint will terminate on December 28, and the U.S. Mint is offering FREE and reduced shipping for the holidays (conditions apply). Those who order by December 15 will receive their coins by Christmas.

Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) is excited to announce an exclusive partnership with the National Purple Heart Honor Mission, the coin’s congressionally-designated beneficiary organization, to offer collectors a special certification label featuring the organization’s logo for the US Mint’s commemorative coins. On Thursday, Feb. 24, the United States Mint will begin selling most of the 2022 National Purple Heart Hall of Honor Commemorative Coins. While the U.S. Mint will start taking orders for the coins on the 24th, the agency is not expected to begin shipping them until June 8.

In a news conference on Dec. 4 in Wappingers Falls, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney unveiled designs for three commemorative coins that will be released in 2022. Maloney, whose district includes the Highlands, introduced a bill that allowed the U.S. Mint at West Point to create them.
