WWLP News 22: Granby veteran to be nationally honored at 2023 Purple Heart Patriot Project

Granby resident and U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class James Bouchard will attend the multi-day tribute to those who were wounded in combat from September 18th through September 22nd. The event includes a visit to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in New York, Washington’s Headquarters, and a special tour of the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor.

Military Family Magazine: Purple Heart Day - An opportunity to raise awareness of wounded veterans

The NPHHM was founded in 1997 as part of an effort spearheaded by Lt. Col. William J. Larkin Jr., a retired Army officer, World War II and Korean War veteran and New York State senator. Larkin and three others lobbied and raised funds to build what is now the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor, a museum to honor Purple Heart recipients.
