John "Jake" Parette

John “Jake” Parette enlisted in the Army in January 2010 and served for the next four years. As a member of the 25th Infantry Division, Parette was stationed in Alaska and deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn. He was injured by enemy fire while serving in Afghanistan in August 2011. 

Along with his Purple Heart, SPC Parette was awarded numerous medals and commendations during his service, including Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 2 campaign stars, the Army Commendation Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and more.

An ordained minister, Parette is a proud father of two. Since leaving the military, he has continued to serve as an elected Constable in Crawford County. Parette also volunteers to coach youth sports and was a volunteer fire fighter in his community for eight years.
