KFSM CBS 5: Crawford County veteran will represent Arkansas at the 2026 Purple Heart Patriot Project
An Arkansas veteran will be recognized on the national stage for his service at the 2026 Purple Heart Project this spring.
U.S. Army Specialist John Parette has been selected to represent Arkansas at the event scheduled for April 27 to May 1, 2026.
Parette is a Crawford County native who served in the Army from 2010 to 2014. As a member of the 25th Infantry Division, he was stationed in Alaska and later deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn. He was wounded in combat while in Afghanistan in August 2011.
