Bill Flippo

Bill Flippo enlisted in the Army in July 1998 and served for 22 years.

As a member of the 3/325 Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, he deployed multiple times in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Inherent Resolve. He earned his Purple Heart after an IED detonated near his vehicle in Baghdad on August 20, 2003 just eight days before his second son was born.

Along with his Purple Heart, 1SG Flippo earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Jumpmaster qualification, Pathfinder badge, two Bronze Stars, two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, and two Meritorious Service Medals.

Married and the father of three sons, First Sergeant Flippo now works for the Department of War. Flippo enjoys fishing, hunting, and supporting veterans. He is grateful for his wife and all her efforts to raise their children as single parents during each of his deployments.  They are very proud of all their sons who have enormous hearts and truly understand the value in volunteering your time and energy into things that are bigger than just them.  The men that they have grown up to be is among their greatest achievements.
