Shaun Curry

Shaun Curry enlisted in the Army in February 2001 and continues to serve today.

As a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment and the 25th Infantry Division, CSM Curry has completed 14 tours, deploying during both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In October 2011, CSM Curry’s base in Kandahar, Afghanistan, came under enemy attack. While his reconnaissance unit was repelling the attack, CSM Curry was wounded by shrapnel from a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) and a recoilless rifle round. The firefight lasted for 7 hours after CSM Curry was wounded, and he continued to lead his platoon despite his injuries.

Along with his Purple Heart, CSM Curry was awarded numerous medals and commendations during his service, including the Legion of Merit, the Bronze star with “V” device, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Ranger Tab, the Meritorious Service Medal, and more.

Married to his wife, Amy, for nearly 24 years, Curry is the proud father of three. He continues to serve his fellow veterans, including as the Chief of Staff for the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 483, the Hawaii Department. He is also an active member of the Oahu Veterans Council, where he also serves as the Chief of Staff.
