An army veteran from Sioux City and recipient of two Purple Hearts will be honored at the national level. John Mansfield is Iowa’s Purple Heart Patriot Project honoree for 2026. The National Purple Heart Honor Mission takes place in Washington, D.C., from April 27 to May 1.
